Time to Upgrade
As a self-declared genius, Lucas often does not get the respect that he feels he deserves which forces him to consider an upgrade in the company he keeps.
The web page bonus for today is the blue-line pencil sketches used to make today’s cartoon. The sketches have been Photoshoped and cleaned up, but are still pretty rough.
You may have also noticed that I drew Snafu and Fubar separately but in the final cartoon, Fubar is pulling on Snafu’s horns “helping” him. Well, the reason that I did that was that I was uncertain that I would be able to fit all three gremlins into a frame. Call it pre-editing if you will. By completely ignoring the constraints of the panel lines, I was able to fit Fubar into the scene.

I don’t think I’d want Gremlins working on my gas water heater, but the composition is great.

I don’t want gremlins “working” on my water heater, either. However, that doesn’t seem to stop them, I recently had to replace mine.
