The mummy of the old vintage movies weren’t really scary to me. Creepy and eerie yes, but I was never really afraid of something I could outrun. On the other hand, I was a little weirded out that the thing kept coming for ya…

Yes, I completely agree. I don’t find the vintage mummies scary in the least. What sparked this little series was recently buying and watching the original Boris Karloff Mummy movie. While Boris’ mummy make up was truly outstanding, the movie itself was slow and a real disappointment. It is hard to be scared of something that you can literally walk away from.
