It’s actually from Lord of the Rings (sort of). The original version was:
One Ring to rule them all,
One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all,
and in the darkness bind them
…It seemed fitting for a universal remote control.

I thought it might have been something like that, though I didn’t recognize it. Maybe because I’ve never read the book(s).

It is admittedly an obscure reference from the Lord of the Rings, but it fit the Universal remote control story well.
