Dodging Bullets
Fubar unsuccessfully dodges bullets when he is caught napping in his trusty biplane.
From a behind-the-scenes perspective, I wasted a lot of time on this cartoon. I couldn’t seem to get the swirling dogfight action that I wanted and ended up drawing 8, yes 8, full sized WWI biplanes and then either cropping, shrinking, or masking all of them. I am still painfully slow at doing color work, so doing 8 individual planes took most of the last two days. Here is one of them at more or less full size:
I didn't make up the wild colors.

Thanks Allan! I have kind of drifted into the graphic novel/comic book style unintentionally. All of the color was just to support Fubar’s vivid imagination.
