Seek and Find
Gremlins play an odd version of Seek and Find. It’s odd to us and they don’t really care if they find anything.
I don’t often make comments about the cartoons, but I though I would point out that the middle panels contain an illustration of and actual Jaguar V12 engine. The reason that I bring this up is that I did not have to exaggerate, enhance, or add ANYTHING to make it look that complicated.

This would explain a lot!
And the later V12s in the XJS got a lot more complicated with all the pollution controls and electronics, and a much tighter engine bay.

I think a lot of Jaguars came direct from the factory with gremlins. This might explain their “iffy” reliability reputation.
The XJS was more complicated due to the electronics, but it had a better reputation for reliability. (Probably, due to the fact that most gremlins don’t like to deal with electronics.)

I’ve hear the biggest problems with the XJS was that they could overheat, but if you kept all the hoses and lines in good condition, the V12s were quite good. A lot of people never liked them, but I always though they were neat.

I had a friend who’s father had an XKE V12 coupe who would let us drive the car if I could get the engine running. And, yes, we did get to drive it from time to time. The Jaguar V12 is very neat!

That must have been fun. The XKE is still one of my all time favourites.

Heck! Four cylinders are complicated enough for me. When I could work on cars, troubleshooting always seemed out of my reach. I could replace the parts, but I guess I didn’t inherit my father’s trait for figuring out any problems. He’s the best mechanic I’ve ever seen.

Four cylinders can be just as complicated. It’s just that they don’t LOOK as complicated as a V12.
As you might have deduced, I have a mechanical background and you are right in that diagnosing a problem (for me, at least) can be more difficult that the actual fix.

My first two years of college, my ride was a crashed MG Midget that my father and I fixed up. It had a duel carburetor set up that I always had trouble adjusting. He always seemed to know just how to tweak it though.

I had a good friend in college that also drove an orange MG Midget. He had the same issue syncing the carbs.

Multiple carbs are always so much fun! The triple cards on the XKE, some muscle cars, and a number of exotics were always notoriously difficult to keep in sync.

If only I could post a picture from the Nuwisha Tribebook (for Werewolf: The Apocalypse). It shows a werecoyote jumping down with a helicopter exploding in the background and the werecoyote’s holding something, presumably from the exploding helicopter. One of my friends thought it was the “Jesus pin.”

Great picture! That werecoyote just might have a little gremlins spirit in there, too. 🙂
