Pesky Gremlins Comic 114 – Problem at the Office

Problem at the Office

Elmo strolls through the office blissfully ignorant of the turmoil that has recently surrounded him.

On a creative note, this cartoon and many subsequent ones almost didn’t happen.  I had a major technological meltdown with my equipment.  I draw these cartoons the old fashioned way with pen, brush, and ink.  When I am finished with that, I need to convert it into a digital format and finish it on the computer.  The scanner I used broke due to a mechanical failure and I struggled to repair it.  I spent hours trying to revive this stupid piece of equipment.  I should have just declared it dead immediately.  By the time I came to grips with the fact that I could not repair it, it was late and I had mangled the scanner software and settings on my computer.  Fortunately, I was able to find a Office Depot that was open with a large form factor scanner in stock.   I got the scanner home, unpacked it, and installed it late last night and was able to “finish” the cartoon despite the late hour.  However, the cartoon is not quite as finished as I had intended.

  1. Oh the agony of the office. Let the bodies hit the floor. Rolling in pain in their cubicles, oh the humanity. Somebody put prune juice in the water cooler. The coffee machine is broken. The world is spiraling out of control. —funny stuff.

    1. The office is a mixed blessing. You have to take the good with the bad. For Elmo, today is going to be bad…
