Pulling on a Thread
Pulling on a thread can unravel a sweater or in our example a zeppelin wrapped in polyester.
Today’s web page bonus is a background for a frame that appeared last February. I thought it might be interesting to show the progression of the image from pencil sketch, to ink, to the final painted image. So, here is the pencil image straight from the sketch book:
An here is the ink. No shading, just line work. And here is the painted image. I kind of cheated on this one but using the pencil image as a layer to get the rock textures. I would have like to spent more time on the sky, but it was just a background and much of it was covered up as it appeared in it final form.

The thread that unraveled the world. Well, maybe just Snafu’s world.
Nice planet scene. Looks like a place I’d like to visit!

That thread certainly caused Snafu’s side of the story to unravel.
The planet would be a nice get-away, but bring your own air.

Snafu’s plans are rapidly unraveling…
Beautiful background, man!

Snafu’s version of the story, where he emerges victorious, has completely unraveled.
Thanks RG, but think I like your new BG’s better!

It’s about to come undone.
