Desperate Measures
With no other alternatives available, Lucas is compelled to the desperate act of (gasp!) calling the Tech Support Help Desk.
Has anyone out there ever received any help from the Help Desk? I would NEVER call the Help Desk at work because I knew that they were measured on closing calls NOT solving problems. Most calls were closed due to some obscure bureaucratic procedural loophole like you didn’t submit the proper online form. …Which was exceedingly hard to do with an incapacitated computer or broken network connection!

Tech Support: you’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Which is totally unfair to the Tech Support community. That one guy is pretty good.
Which is totally unfair to the Tech Support community. MANY of them are pretty good.

There may indeed be good Tech Support out there. I just have not come across it, yet.

Yeah, tell me about it. Satellite tech support is extremely difficult when you live waaaaaay out in the sticks. They have a tendency to rely on third party installers and repairs. Those guys know what their doing, but scheduling and appointment times are… problematic.

Since I live in a big city, I have never had to deal with Satellite tech support. But if its any consolation, the scheduling issue can still be “problematic”. 🙂

Microsoft tech support is the worse. Better get a sandwich while you wait for them.

Yep, Lucas should be prepared to spend more than a little time on hold!

No no no! Anything but that! Your life will be forever on wait!

And it all begins with those two words… “Please hold” (insert dramatic music here)

Calling Microsoft for help is as useless as trying to return a miss shipment to Amazon. Ain’t happening.

A modern example of “quixotic”!!

Quite a conundrum: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”…but he has to fix it to break it! XD

Lucas is a bit of a control freak. He has to do it his way.
